Desmopressin is generally used in treatment of bed-wetting and diabetes insipidus

How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Desmopressin, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Desmopressin is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.

How it works

Desmopressin is a synthetic form of vasopressin (natural hormone that balances water). It works by causing reabsorption of water from the kidneys which controls excessive thirst and urination in diabetes insipidus. It also helps decrease night-time urine production and bedwetting in children. In addition to these, it reduces bleeding episodes by promoting the release of blood clotting factors.
Q. Does Desmopressin cause weight gain/increase in blood pressure/constipation?
Desmopressin may cause weight gain or increase in blood pressure as its side effects. It is not known to cause constipation. Consult your doctor if you observe any such symptoms after taking this medicine
