Neomycin is generally used in treatment of the treatment of bacterial infections.
Chlorhexidine Gluconate is generally used in treatment of the treatment of inflammation of gums.

How to use

Neomycin is meant for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. For directions before use, please check the label. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
Check the label before use. Take the mouthwash in the quantity as advised by your doctor and put it in your mouth. Swish for 30 seconds to 1 minute and spit it. Do not swallow. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after rinsing.

How it works

Neomycin is an antibiotic. It makes the condition better and the bacterial growth is stopped by blocking the supply of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to harm the body.
Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic. It makes the condition better by destroying & killing the harmful microorganisms in the affected area.

No, Neomycin does not contain sulfa (sulphonamide group) and the sulphate group present in this drug has no link with sulfa either

  • Neomycin tablets are not recommended for children below six year of age.Some patients (infants, elderly, obese and cystic fibrosis [genetic disorder that affects lungs] patients) may require monitoring of Neomycin levels in blood to prevent damage to the ear and kidneys.Caution is advised in patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease or any disease characterized by muscle weakness, or in patients about to receive general anesthesia.Caution is also advised in patients who are exposed to loud noise, or patients who have been dehydrated due to diarrhea or vomiting.
  • Use Chlorhexidine Gluconate after meals, it may affect the taste of foods and beverages. For maximum effectiveness avoid rinsing mouth (with water or any other mouthwash), brushing teeth, eating or drinking for 30 minutes after using the Chlorhexidine Gluconate.Chlorhexidine Gluconate may cause permanent discolouration of some tooth fillings. To minimize discolouration, brush and floss daily, focussing on the areas which begin to discolour.Do not mix/dilute Chlorhexidine Gluconate with any other product.Avoid contact with eyes and ears. If the solution comes in contact with your eyes, rinse well with water.Notify your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
