How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Risperidone, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Risperidone is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.

How it works

Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic. It makes the condition better by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.
Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic drug that improves the condition by reducing the activity of acetylcholine in the brain. This helps improve muscle control and reduce the stiffness faced in Parkinson's disease. It also improves & helps with involuntary movemeuntary movements or muscle spasm) caused by certain other medicines.

No. Risperidone is neither addictive nor controlled substance

Risperidone is an atypical antagonist which may show sedative effects. It has affinity towards serotonin. Few studies have shown that Risperidone induces neuroleptic malignant syndrome

Using Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone), Ambien (zolpidem) or diazepam together with Risperidone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Tramadol may increase the risk of seizures when given with Risperidone

Yes. Taking ibuprofen/ trazodone/melatonin/ Tylenol (acetaminophen) with Risperidone does not cause any harmful effects. Please follow your doctor's advice regarding its use

  • It may be taken before or after meals.If Trihexyphenidyl causes your mouth to dry excessively, it may be better to take it before meals, unless it causes nausea. If taken after meals, thirst can be improved by sucking hard sugarless candy, chewing gum, or drinking water.Inform your doctor if you are taking any medicines to treat glaucoma.Trihexyphenidyl can cause blurred vision or dizziness. Do not drive and or operate machinery if you get blurred vision or dizziness.Inform your doctor if you have trouble in passing urine.Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
