Isosorbide Dinitrate is generally used in treatment of the treatment of chest pain (Angina).
Hydralazine is generally used in treatment of the treatment of high blood pressure. It is also used in combination with long-acting nitrates in heart failure.

How to use

How it works
Isosorbide Dinitrate is a nitrate. It makes the condition better by relaxing the blood vessels which decreases the oxygen demand of the heart and reduces its workload. It thus prevents/treats attacks of angina (chest pain) and improves symptoms of heart failure.
Hydralazine is a potassium channel opener. It works by relaxing blood vessels which lowers blood pressure and allows more blood and oxygen to reach the heart and other organs.

- You have been prescribed Isosorbide Dinitrate for the prevention and treatment of heart-related chest pain (Angina).Do not swallow, suck or chew the tablet. Place it under the tongue and allow it to dissolve slowly.Eat healthy (low-fat, high-fibre, low-sodium diet), quit smoking, increase your physical activity, watch your weight, and reduce stress.Isosorbide Dinitrate may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.Do not consume alcohol while taking Isosorbide Dinitrate as it may cause increased dizziness.It may cause headaches but usually goes away after a few days of continued treatment. Inform your doctor if it persists.You may develop tolerance to Isosorbide Dinitrate with time, meaning that the same dose may be less effective next time. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule to avoid this.
- Inform your doctor if you have had a heart attack, have sensation of pressure, squeezing or pain due to insufficient blood supply to the muscles of the heart (angina pectoris) or suffered from paralysis of one or more parts of the body due to insufficient blood supply to the brain (stroke), or have liver or kidney disease.Precaution should be taken if you have been told you are a slow acetylator (persons with reduced ability to metabolize drugs so that Hydralazine accumulates in blood).Caution has to be taken before operating an automobile or machinery or engaging in activities requiring mental alertness and coordination as Hydralazine can cause dizziness and unusual tiredness.Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
