Uses

Flurbiprofen is generally used in treatment of pain relief. It relieves pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, gout, muscle pain, low back pain, toothache and painful periods.
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is generally used in treatment of the treatment of dry eyes.
Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is generally used in prevention of infections.

How to use

Flurbiprofen is meant for external use only. Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. For directions before use, please check the label. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is meant for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. For directions before use, please check the label. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How it works

Flurbiprofen belongs to the category of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, inflamation(swelling & redness) to make the condition better .
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant that's similar to natural tears. On applying, it offers temporary relief from burning and irritation caused due to dryness around the eye.
Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate belongs to the class of drugs called anti-infective agents. It inhibits or kills growth of bacteria or fungi. It also destroys the harmful microorganisms.

Long term use may lead to serious complications such as stomach bleeding and kidney problems.Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Flurbiprofen.Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Flurbiprofen as it can increase your risk of stomach problems.Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease or stroke.Your doctor may regularly monitor your kidney function, liver function and levels of blood components if you are taking this medicine for long-term treatment.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose to treat dry eye disease.It stabilizes the natural tear film and maintains necessary lubrication so your eyes don’t get dry and irritated.May require long-term use.Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.Do not take if allergic to Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate or any of its ingredient.
