Uses
Megestrol is generally used in treatment of breast cancer and endometrial cancer It is also used for treating appetite and weight loss in patients with advanced cancer or HIV.

How to use
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Megestrol, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Megestrol is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.
How it works
Megestrol is a progestin (female hormones). It works in patients with breast cancer and endometrial cancer by lowering certain hormones produced in tumours that are responsible for causing pain. It is not clear how Megestrol treats appetite and weight loss.
