How to use

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. For directions before use, please check the label.
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Folic Acid, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Folic Acid is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) provides essential nutrients.
Thiamine(Vitamin B1) provides essential nutrients.
Vitamin B2 provides essential nutrients.
Calcium is a mineral that provides essential nutrients.
Oxytetracycline is an antibiotic. It makes the condition better and the bacterial growth is stopped by blocking the supply of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to harm the body.
Vitamin B3(Nicotinic Acid) stimulates the formation of enzymes for triglyceride metabolism thereby reducing the levels of triglyceride and cholesterol in the body.
Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Folic Acid is a form of vitamin B. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn baby's brain and spinal cord.

Q. Can I take Calcium with iron/ does Calcium inhibit iron absorption?
No, iron supplement should not be taken with Calcium supplements, as they interact to form non-absorbable complexes. They, however, can be taken at interval of 1 to 2 hours between them. Please follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use when indicated together

Q. Can I take Calcium with vitamin C?
There has been no study to prove interaction between Vitamin C and Calcium. However, It is recommended to follow your doctor advice before using this medication.

Q. Can I take Calcium with coffee/ tea?
No, coffee/ tea can reduce the absorption of Calcium in the body

No, patient should avoid concomitant administration of Calcium along with magnesium. There could be increase in urinary Calcium excretion when Calcium is given along with magnesium. Please follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use

Yes, Calcium can be taken with vitamin D. It helps in absorption of Calcium in the body

Folvite/ Fol123/ Folvite MB are the trade names for active drug Folic Acid. Folvite contains only Folic Acid which is a component of the B group of vitamins. While Fol123/ Folvite MB, in addition to Folic Acid also has other forms of vitamin B. In addition Folic Acid is also used for prevention of folate deficiency caused by some medicines (e.g. phenytoin, phenobarbital and primidone used to treat epilepsy), folate deficiency caused by long-term red blood cell damage or kidney dialysis However, patients should follow the advice of the doctor regarding the dose and duration of use of Folic Acid

Folic Acid may have rare side effect like acidity, while it has no known effect on weight gain

Folic Acid may interact with medicines such as methotrexate/sulfonamide antibiotics (sulfasalazine, cotrimoxazole etc). It has no known effect if taken with warfarin/calcium/ metformin.

  • Taking Vitamin B2 may result in dark yellow coloration of urine.Before taking this drug consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding.Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • If you have higher than normal levels of Calcium in your urine (hypercalciuria).If you have kidney stones.If you have mild to moderate problems with your kidneys.If you have an overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism).If you have thinning or weakening of bones (osteoporosis) caused by immobility or tumors.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Oxytetracycline to cure your infection and improve symptoms.It should be taken on an empty stomach, with plenty of water, while you are sitting or standing to prevent any throat irritation.Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.Do not take antacids or medicines containing zinc or iron at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking Oxytetracycline.Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
  • Do not take methylcobalmin if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Methylcobalamin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Tell your doctor if your occupation required you to handle mercury or its compound.Do not use Methylcobalamin over a period of months, if there is a lack of satisfactory clinical response.
  • Folic Acid is used for the treatment of Folic Acid deficiency.It is also taken before and during pregnancy to decrease the risk of defects in the neural tube, which forms the spinal cord in the baby.Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures as you may need a higher dose of the seizure medicines than what you normally take.
