How it works

Carbidopa is given together with levodopa. It prevents levodopa from breakage before it reaches the brain thereby improving the efficacy of the drug. This also allows the patient to go for a lower dose of levodopa, that helps reduce vomiting and nausea.
Entacapone works by increasing the amount of dopamine, a chemical messenger that is needed to control movements in the brain.
Levodopa improves the condition by converting into dopamine, a chemical messenger that is required to regulate the transmission of signals in the brain.
