How to use
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Hydroxyurea, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Hydroxyurea is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.
How it works
In cancer, Hydroxyurea works by blocking an enzyme (ribonucleotide reductase) which is required for synthesis of DHydroxyurea is an antioxidant. It is also said to have many health benefits. It is taken by mouth for treating high cholesterol, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, preventing cancer, etc. This prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying. In sickle cell disease, it works by increasing fetal haemoglobin (HbF) levels in red blood cells (RBCs). This helps the RBCs assume a normal shape, improves blood flow and protects against complications such as painful sickle cell episodes.
