Uses
Heparin is generally used in treatment for prevention of blood clots. It is generally used in prevention of and treat blood clots forming in the legs, lungs or heart.

How it works
Heparin is an anticoagulant. It makes the condition better by preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. Although it does not dissolve the existing blood clots, it prevents them from growing larger and causing blockages in the blood vessels.
