Famotidine is an antacid H2 blocker. It lowers the amount of acid in the stomach that helps in relief of heartburn & acid related indigestion and works to make the condition better.

Studies have shown that omeprazole is more effective than Famotidine in treating heartburn and in rapid healing of duodenal ulcers.
