Uses
Anastrozole is generally used in treatment of the treatment of breast cancer. It is used with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation, to treat breast cancer in women who have attained menopause.

How to use
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Anastrozole, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Anastrozole is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.
How it works
Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.

- Your doctor has prescribed Anastrozole to treat breast cancer.Anastrozole lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of hormone-sensitive tumours.Anastrozole can be taken with food or on an empty stomach with a glass of water or juice.Nausea (upset stomach) and hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may occur on starting treatment with Anastrozole but should go away with time. If nausea is bothersome, take it after meal.If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. If it is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule.
