Olanzapine is generally used in treatment of mania and schizophrenia

How to use
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. Do not handle the tablets with wet hands. Put it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Olanzapine is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.
How it works
Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic. It makes the condition better by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behavior.

- Works well in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, including difficult cases.Allow at least 4 to 6 weeks to see full effects on thoughts and mood.You may feel dizziness and drowsiness when you start taking Olanzapine. For the first week, avoid activities that require you to be alert.Olanzapine may cause weight gain, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar.Tell your doctor if you have any unusual thoughts or behavior, inability to control muscle movements, or fever and excess sweating.Elderly people with dementia shouldn't take Olanzapine.Avoid cigarette smoking as it can decrease Olanzapine blood levels.
