How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Rifaximin, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Rifaximin is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.

Rifaximin is an antibiotic. In hepatic encephalopathy, it works by killing the ammonia-producing bacteria in the digestive tract thereby relieving symptoms such as agitation, confusion, and muscle problems.

  • Rifaximin reduces the risk of overt hepatic encephalopathy (HE) recurrence in patients with liver disease.It may cause reddish discolouration of your urine. This is normal and not harmful.Stop taking Rifaximin and inform your doctor if you have severe diarrhea during or after using Rifaximin.Finish the full course of the medication, even if you feel better.
