Uses

Clindamycin is generally used in treatment of the treatment of bacterial infections. It is generally used in treatment of infections of the skin such as acne (Pimples), abdomen, bone, skin, heart and soft tissues. It also used in post-operative infections.
Benzoyl Peroxide is generally used in treatment of the treatment of acne.

How to use

Clindamycin is meant for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake it well and apply to the area evenly.
Benzoyl Peroxide is meant for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. For directions before use, please check the label. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Clindamycin is an antibiotic that improves the condition by stopping synthesis of necessary proteins required by bacteria to carry out its important functions. Therefore, it prevents the bacteria from growing, and helps prevent the infection from spreading to
Benzoyl Peroxide belongs to the class of drugs called as keratolytic agents. It acts by killing the acne causing bacteria thereby preventing the infection. It also has peeling and drying properties.
Q. Is Clindamycin/Clindac/Dalacin a steroid, sulfa drug, cephalosporin, or a penicillin?
Clindamycin belongs to a group of antibiotics called lincosamide antibiotics. Clindamycin is not a cephalosporin, penicillin, or a sulpha drug and does not contain sulpha

  • You have been prescribed Benzoyl Peroxide for the treatment of Acne.Be careful when applying Benzoyl Peroxide to large areas since it can bleach hair, clothing, and furnishings upon contact.It may cause skin dryness or stinging. In case you experience excessive irritation or allergy, discontinue the medication and consult your doctor.This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid exposure to sunlight, sunlamp or ultraviolet light when using Benzoyl Peroxide.Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.Do not apply it on sunburned or damaged skin.
