Uses

Ibandronic Acid is generally used in treatment of the treatment of osteoporosis. Used in treatement of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fractures.
Zinc is generally used in treatment of the treatment of nutritional deficiencies.
Calcitriol is generally used in treatment of calcium deficiency and post menopausal osteoporosis
Calcium is generally used in treatment of the treatment of nutritional deficiencies.

How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Ibandronic Acid, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Ibandronic Acid is to be taken empty stomach.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How it works

Ibandronic Acid is a bisphosphonate. It makes the condition better by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures.
Zinc is a mineral that provides essential nutrients.
Calcitriol is the active form of Vitamin D. It raises Vitamin D levels in your blood. This in turn raises calcium levels in your blood by helping you absorb more calcium from your intestine.

No, iron supplement should not be taken with Calcium supplements, as they interact to form non-absorbable complexes. They, however, can be taken at interval of 1 to 2 hours between them. Please follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use when indicated together

You should avoid concomitant use of Calcium and Synthroid within 4 hours. However, It is recommended to follow your doctor advice before using this medication.

  • Your doctor has prescribed Ibandronic Acid to make your bones stronger and lower the risk of fractures.Take it in the morning at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything.Maintain an upright posture for 30 minutes after taking the medication so the medicine doesn't irritate your food pipe.It may cause the amount of calcium in your blood to fall. Take calcium rich food in your diet and have regular blood tests to monitor the level of calcium in your blood.It's important to look after your mouth and teeth as much as possible while you're taking. Have regular dental check-ups and inform your dentist about taking Ibandronic Acid.
  • Do not take any other forms of Vitamin D unless your doctor suggests.Take calcium supplements along with Vitamin D3 as suggested by your doctor.Drink plenty of fluids (such as water) as it is important not to become dehydrated. Avoid using antacids without your doctor's advice. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb Calcitriol.Consult your doctor if you notice a metallic taste in mouth, muscle or joint pain, headache or drowziness.
  • If you have higher than normal levels of Calcium in your urine (hypercalciuria).If you have kidney stones.If you have mild to moderate problems with your kidneys.If you have an overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism).If you have thinning or weakening of bones (osteoporosis) caused by immobility or tumors.
