Anastrozole is generally used in treatment of the treatment of breast cancer. It is used with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation, to treat breast cancer in women who have attained menopause.
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Anastrozole, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Anastrozole is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.
Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.

No. Anastrozole is a non-steroidal drug used in the treatment of breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It does not have a structure or effect similar to steroids. It is not a hormone
