Uses

Orlistat is generally used in treatment of obesity. It should be taken along with a low-calorie diet.

How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Orlistat, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Orlistat is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.Avoid Orlistat with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

How it works

Orlistat is a lipase inhibitor. It works in the stomach and small intestine by blocking the absorption of fat from food by blocking enzymes responsible for the breakdown of fat.
