Uses

Artemether is generally used in treatment of the treatment of malaria. It is not used to prevent malaria or to treat severe malaria (where it has affected the brain, lungs or kidneys).
Lumefantrine is generally used in treatment of the treatment of malaria.

How it works

Lumefantrine is an antiparasitic drug which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
