Uses

Mefloquine is generally used in treatment of the treatment of malaria.
Artesunate is generally used in treatment of the treatment of malaria. It is not used to prevent malaria or to treat severe malaria (where it has affected the brain, lungs or kidneys).

How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Mefloquine, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Mefloquine is to be taken with food.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How it works

Mefloquine is an antiparasitic drug which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
Artesunate is an antiparasitic drug. It works by producing harmful chemicals (free radicals) within the malarial parasite, thereby killing it.
