Uses

Hydrochlorothiazide is generally used in treatment of high blood pressure and oedema Used in treatement of oedema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver, kidney or lung disease.
Reserpine is generally used in treatment of the treatment of high blood pressure.
Dihydralazine is generally used in treatment of the treatment of high blood pressure.

How to use

Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Hydrochlorothiazide, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Hydrochlorothiazide is to be taken with food.
Consume this medicine in the dosage and duration as per your doctors advise. While taking Dihydralazine, swallow it completely without crushing, breaking or chewing it. Dihydralazine is advised to be taken at a fixed time, but may be taken together with food (or) without food.

How it works

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug. It helps lower blood pressure and swelling by eliminiating the excessive electrolytes and water from the body. It also helps in relaxing the blood vessles, thus improving the blood flow.

Dihydralazine lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and there by allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart.

  • Inform your doctor if you have any of the following conditions: history of peptic ulcers, gallstones, or ulcerative colitis, kidney problems or are planning to undergo any surgical procedures.Do not drive or operate machinery as Reserpine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or light-headedness.Do not drink alcohol while taking Reserpine as it may worsen the side effects.You may experience dizziness or fainting while using Reserpine, especially in the morning. To prevent such symptoms, sit up or stand slowly.Seek immediate medical attention if you develop the signs of depression (feelings of decreased self-worth, loss of appetite, trouble in sleeping, decrease in sexual ability or interest).Avoid becoming overheated during exercise or in hot weather as Reserpine may cause heatstroke.Use of Reserpine is not recommended in children.Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Stop taking Dihydralazine if you develop serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. Do consult your doctor if you have had a heart attack, pain in the chest (angina), narrowing of blood vessels of the brain (cerebrovascular disease), serious liver or kidney disease.Do not stop taking Dihydralazine unless advised by a doctor.Dihydralazine may make you drowsy, dizzy, or confused. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.With prolonged use of Dihydralazine in large doses, a condition resembling autoimmune disease affecting skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs (systemic lupus erythematosus) may develop.
